Start your adventure with the 236 km of the ‘Luberon by bike’ route.
Cycle at your own pace between the Luberon’s hilltop villages, stopping to see rich Provençal heritage. Wash houses, fountains, and chapels, as well as little farmer’s markets and artisanal boutiques… So many great reasons to ride your bike through these picturesque lanes. Carefully selected for their beauty, the roads of this circuit will lead you through spectacular landscapes between cliffs, garrigues, and a cedar forest.

Get yourself to Apt for a sweet snack! Famous for its candied fruits, it would be a crime not to give them a try during your trip.

Who hasn’t dreamed of travelling through Provence by bike?
Thanks to the “The Mediterranean by bike” Greenway, a section of the Mediterranean by bike / EuroVelo 8, hear the cicadas singing and smell the sweet fragrances of the lavender fields. This route, ideal for families, allows you to explore several parts of the Luberon and boasts typically Provençal landscapes. As you cycle along the Calavon river, you’ll come across old train stations and the incredible Pont Julien, which dates from the Roman Empire. You’ll also see the Luberon’s hilltop villages in the distance!

Good to know

The vast majority of the route follows the Calavon Greenway which takes over from a former railway line. You’ll be able to cycle in total tranquillity on a path far from dangerous traffic.

The Luberon: a land of cycling

The Luberon never ceases to enchant cycling enthusiasts and offers cycle routes to discover the most beautiful landscapes…

We have selected the ‘Ochres by bike’ route for you, which is full of Provençal charm. This itinerary follows a large, 51 km route, linking the beautiful villages of Roussillon, Rustrel, Gargas, Apt and Villars with little roads that are not often used.
You will also be able to cycle on the ‘Pays d’Aigues by bike’ route through the heart of vineyards and medieval villages. A snippet of some of the places you will see as part of this cycle route include Lourmarin and its art galleries, Cucuron and its lovely lake, as well as La Tour d’Aigues and its incredible history.

For the foodies

Bastide du Laval oil mill in the Pays d’Aigues will help you discover everything there is to know about the delicious olive! Oils and home-made tapenades will inevitably whet your appetite!
